Network Comedy Rankings for the Week of December 16, 2019

The rankings of network comedies for the week of December 16, 2019 are shown below. For the first time ever, the #1 spot was claimed by a show that doesn't even air during prime time. It was NBC's Saturday Night Live with guest host Eddie Murphy. Although the SNL alum is no longer the mega-movie star that he once was, it is obvious that there are still plenty of fans who want to see Murphy reprise his roles from his famous SNL sketches. At #2 and #3 and The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola respectively. Coincidentally, all the other comedies that aired this past week were repeats. This left us with the strange phenomenon where the top three first-run comedies were also the week's worst three first-run comedies.
